We are excited to bring the 2015 Annual Diwali Motorcade to light up the streets of Queens on the darkest night of the year. This is the largest and oldest celebration of Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights in Richmond Hill, New York. This year we're asking for your support to continue this important tradition. By donating, you will be contributing to the great cultural diversity of the Worlds Borough.

The festival has become an important part of the fabric of this great city, with thousands of participants lining the streets with their children. The event is organized entirely by unpaid volunteers and funded with generous donations from local businesses and private citizens.


Hawan Ceremony

Hawan is performed in a grand form where all in attendance are welcome to partcipate and prayers are chanted by several pandits. The expereince will engulf you in a tranquil bliss towards the end of the ritual. Join us and offer your prayers.

Diwali Motorcade

The Motorcade begins on 133rd Street and continues down Liberty Avenue illuminating the souls as the crowded spectators revel in the beauty of the floats. They are led by Tassa drummers, playing the rythmic sounds and beats that are sure to enchant you.

Grand Cultural Show

The evening concludes with a cultural show that brings together artiste and performers to showcase their talents with religious songs related to Diwali and classical dances of India on display. You will also be fasinated by the performers dressed as Gods and Goddess interacting with the crowds.

Grand Marshall for 2015, Pandit Manoj Jadubans is the spiritual leader of the Shaanti Bhavan. Panditji believes in togetherness, love and a bond of respect for all and is the first Chela of the late Pandit Shree Prakash Gossai He will be accompanied by the children of the Shaanti Bhavan Mandir on their float and the Naujavaan Mandalee Youth Grouth.
